Late Anniversary

Our 5 year anniversary was April 23 rd, but because of the things that have been going on in our crazy life we postponed our celebration a little bit. John's younger sister lives right outside of houston, so we had decided we would go there and let her keep miss emmalai, while we went out on a hot date:) We ended up going to this upscale contemporary restaurant in downtown houston called REEF. It was SO yummy, they mainly do seafood, but have a few other things. We usually go places that specialize in steak or pasta, so it was a nice change from our usual date nights. We arrived in Houston friday evening ( this was 2 weekends ago) and dropped Emma off with Joni. Then we went straight to the restaurant to make our 7 o'clock reservation. We shared the crab cake appetizer,and they had delicious bread with jalapeno jelly! Weird, yes, but good, YES!  I had the salmon with lemon risotto as my main dish, and John had the redfish and fried macaroni and cheese for his main dish. For desert we shared chocolate cake....oh wow it was to die for!! Seriously I am getting so hungry talking about this food again...ha ha!

From there we went to see a movie, ghosts of girlfriends past, which sadly I do not recommend but it was a nice treat for us, because I honestly cannot even remember the last movie me and John went to see together. It is just so much easier and much cheaper to rent movies.  Joni and Brit so graciously let us spend the night at their house, and then we got to spend that saturday with them and 2 of our favorite nieces, celebrating Bailey's birthday that day, at here choice, the lovely cracker barrel:)
